Description

HALOSTEN 10 is used in the treatment of certain mental/mood disorders (such as schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorders). It helps you to think more evidently, feel less nervous, and take part in everyday life. It can also help prevent suicidal thoughts in people who are likely to harm themselves. It also helps in reducing aggression and the desire to hurt others. 

It can help in the reduction of negative thoughts and hallucinations. Haloperidol can also be used in the treatment of uncontrolled movements and outbursts of words/sounds related to Tourette’s syndrome. Haloperidol is also used for severe behavior problems in hyperactive children when other treatments or medications have not worked. Haloperidol is a psychiatric medication that works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances in the brain (neurotransmitters).

Uses of Haloperidol

  • Haloperidol is used in the treatment of schizophrenia.

Directions of use

  • Read the label carefully and follow the instructions.
  • Consulting with the doctor before taking medicine is compulsory but if not possible, follow the label guidelines to consume the drug.
  • Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor.
  • Daily Dose is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.

Side Effects 

  • Talk to your doctor if you encounter Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, difficulty urinating, sleep disturbances, headache, and anxiety.
  • Try to get up slowly when changing from a sitting or lying position as there is a risk of falling due to dizziness.
  • Confer your doctor if you undergo any muscle spasm/stiffness, shaking (tremor), restlessness, mask-like facial expression, or drooling. These side effects can be altered by changing the medicine referred by the doctor.
