Paroxetine Tablets contain “Paroxetine”, which is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It blocks the reabsorption of serotonin, the brain’s mood-enhancing chemical messenger that communicates between brain cells. In addition, It increases serotonin levels in the nerve synapse, thereby regulating mood and treating depression and anxiety disorders.

Uses Of Paroxetine Tablets

Paroxetine Tablets fall under a category of medicines called antidepressants. It is used in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, and premenstrual dysphoria disorder. Depression is a mood disorder characterised by hopelessness sadness, unhappiness, anger, or loss that interferes with a person’s daily activities.

Contact your doctor immediately if you have suicidal thoughts, such as suicide or harming yourself. Tell your doctor if you have/have had epilepsy, mania, diabetes, low sodium in the blood, glaucoma, or if you are being treated for severe depression called electroconvulsive therapy. Do not use Paroxetine Tablets if you are pregnant, as it may harm an unborn baby. If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking Paroxetine Tablets. Avoid driving or operating machinery because Paroxetine Tablets can cause dizziness, confusion, drowsiness and blurred vision. Paroxetine Tablets are not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age, as their safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Paroxetine Tablets, as it may make your symptoms or side effects worse.

Storage Condition

  • Store Paroxetine Tablets in a cool or dry place at a given temperature as mentioned on its label.

  • Place it on the shelf, far from the reach of your children.
