Description

Rabeprazole Sodium Tablets contain Rabeprazole, a gastric proton pump inhibitor. It inhibits the enzyme system involved in the transport of hydrogen ions in the stomach. This led to a reduction in basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion, thereby promoting the healing of ulcers and prevention of the formation of new ulcers.

Uses of Rabeprazole Sodium Tablets

Rabeprazole Sodium Tablets are proton pump inhibitors. It is administered against various stomach and oesophagus disorders, including duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, heartburn, and damage to the oesophagus from acid. They are also indicated in the presence of infection with Helicobacter pylori in association with an antibacterial and for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition in which the stomach secretes too much acid.

For better results take the exact dose your doctor prescribes. Rabeprazole Sodium Tablets may contain some active ingredients that should be taken under a doctor’s supervision. Do not try to consume in a higher dose than recommended as it can cause some serious side effects or worsen your health condition than before.

Side Effects of Rabeprazole Sodium Tablets

Sometimes this medication may cause several common side effects such as dizziness,  headache, nausea,  diarrhoea, vomiting, flatulence (wind), constipation, weakness, and runny nose. Most of these common side effects do not need healthcare or medical attention and will gradually disappear shortly. However, you should consult with your doctor if you observe these side effects continuously.

Precautions

  • Alcohol: The medicine is liable to pose an extra risk of enhancement of acid in the stomach. It leads to high acidity, resulting in heartburn.

  • Dizziness: Do not drive a car, ride a bike, or perform any activities that require attention. This medicine may cause you to be dizzy or drowsy.

  • Pediatric use: The safety and efficacy of Rabeprazole Sodium Tablets in children have not been established; hence it is not recommended to be used in children.
